Hey there, I’m Adam Luikart head ring leader over here at Mountain State Flower Farm and I want to thank you for check out what I got going on over here.
I often times get asked how did I get starting the flower business and its a very interesting story to say the least. I graduated college and moved to Kentucky and enrolled in a pet grooming school. After three and a half long months of HATING everything about grooming dogs, cats or any animal that I was ready to get back to West Virginia and do anything besides what I had just went to school for. I was working two jobs at the time waiting tables and working at a movie theater when a book on amazon popped up on my suggestions for 20 dollars and its been pretty much flowers since.
I started my first flower seeds in 2018 with dreams bigger then I could have even imagined. I started so many seeds and purchased so many dahlia tubers and with in a few weeks I killed almost all the seedlings, the dahlia tubers were rotting in pots I put them in and for some crazy reason I kept going. That summer I planted out two rows of flowers and sure enough some of them powered through. Despite me not knowing anything at all besides what I read in a book, I think I watered those flowers twice all summer and didn’t even pull any weeds, but I cut so many flowers from that little patch it was crazy. Those super tuff and determined to bloom flowers are what launched me into this business. 5 years later I own a flower farm that sells beautiful locally grown flowers to the most amazing customers!!
Now I can’t forget to mention my most favorite employee of all Wittle Walter. He joined me in the fall of 2023 and has been keeping me on my toes since. He is normally in attendance of all of my workshops and classes that I host.
